Upcoming Shows and Shipping Delays

We'll be at Heirloom Production's in Novi, Michigan show on the 7th and 8th of August, and Stampaway, USA in Cincinati, Ohio on the 13th and 14th. Because it doesn't make sense for us to fly back and forth from California both weekends, we'll be out of town between them. All orders placed after 4pm Pacific time August 4th will ship on August 17th. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Sample Sunday 25 July

This week's sample is an ATC using transparency film and shrink plastic. Distress Inks in Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Tumbled Glass are applied directly to the ATC. Our May 22 1887 unmounted ATC image is stamped on the transparency using Black Staz-On. The transparency is attached to the paper using glossy accents or diamond glaze, and trimmed to the size of the ATC.

Pens And Nibs and Oooh La La Ticket are both stamped on Polyshrink plastic and colored in with markers. A hole is punched at the top of the ticket. Both images are reduced to 45% of their original size. The shrink plastic embellishments are then attached to the ATC.

17 July

This ATC was colored with Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold and Worn Lipstick distress ink pads with a direct-to-paper technique. A pair of wings from Butterfly Wings was stamped in black ink and masked. The words and splatter from Collage Elements were then stamped in black ink. The smallest splatter from Splatter Cube was stamped with Fired Brick.

White shrink plastic was punched using a circle punch and a little color from the distress pads was applied with a stipple brush. It was then shrunk with a heat gun. When the circle was reduced to a smaller size, Moon Face was inked up with black Staz-On and stamped into the hot shrink plastic. A slight relief is left in the shrink plastic if you press hard enough. This technique is called "intaglio".

This week's ATC sample is stamped with Origin Hall with black ink. Watercolor pencils and markers are used for color. A white pen is used to highlight and create depth.

The Dream Tag is stamped on shink plastic and colored with Tombow markers before it was shunk. The shrunken tag was then attached to the ATC

Hope you're all having a great weekend. If you're in the US, have a happy fourth! Anyway here's a sample we've had around for a while:

Milled Lavender, Dried Mrigold and Worn Lipstick Distress Pads were applied directly to the paper to add color to the tag. The Solid Dressform was stamped in Worn Lipstick and the Dressform was stamped in black ink on top of it. A reverse mask was cut out for the dressform image and placed to cover the background and expose the open top of the dressform. The text from Collage Elements was stamped with black ink on the dressform inside the mask.

Mini Rose, Mini Fern and Mini Lily were stamped in black to the left and colored in with color pencils, and glitter pen and red sparkle dots were added. The background texture is comprised of Grungy Cancellation, Splatter, and pieces from Collage Elements, stamped in Antique Linen, Worn Lipstick and black.

Sample Friday!

This one's a day early because we're going to bee busy tomorrow and didn't want to forget.

The tag was rubbed with an inkpad, and stamped with various bits from Bees. Color was added via colored pencils and tombow markers. It was also stamped with the splatter from Collage Elements and Splatter Cube in various shades of blue and black ink.

The Bee Girl Tag was stamped on shrink plastic, colored with colored pencils and tombow markers, and shrunk to 45% of its original size.

Have a great first weekend of Summer!

Spring Sample Sunday, Upcoming Shows
30 May

Sorry for the lack of a sample last week. We had had two shows in a row and while we try to do these in advance it just didn't happen last week.

It's a gorgeous weekend here on the California Central Coast, and here's a sample that we wish was a scene from our garden:

This is our Dragonfly Girl ATC unmounted. A 'Worn Lipstick' Distress Pad was applied directly to the ATC, and the Dragonfly Girl was stamped with archival Jet Black ink. Color added with watercolor pencils and tombow markers, blended with a Dove Blender pen, and metallic rub ons on the corners. Splatter Cube was stamped with Milled Lavender and Weathered Wood Distress Pads.
